Caen Horse Racing Analysis | Expert Strategic Picks for June 18
🇫🇷 Caen Racing Insights – Thursday, June 18, 2026
Loka Loka returned from a break with a solid third at Argentan before annihilating the field at Vichy. That victory was visually stunning — she quickened clear with ease and never looked like stopping. Drawn on the front line (1) she can dictate terms and repeat. The form ties in well with today’s opposition, and she is clearly thriving.
Lutte Imperiale has been a model of consistency this season, rarely finishing outside the frame. She handles the Caen strip well and from stall 4 she can follow the speed and pounce. Her last effort was full of merit, and she looks primed for another big run. Kevin Brossard’s confidence is a major plus.
Wide draw (13) is a concern, but Leane du Parc has been knocking hard at the door recently. Her only career win came under these exact conditions — Caen, same distance — so there’s a strong track affinity. If she gets a decent trip, she can outrun her odds and fill a place.
Mercenaire d’Echal has won 2 of his last 3 starts and was unlucky to be eliminated at Les Sables-d’Olonne. He goes right-handed for the first time, but Adrien Lamy knows him inside out and gets back aboard. He has the raw speed to dominate this monte race, and the form figures are hard to ignore.
Moonlight Quando was impressive at Graignes before a mishap at Argentan. He’s a consistent sort who rarely throws in a poor effort. Under saddle, he shows good balance and a strong finishing burst. With a clean run, he can be right there at the business end.
M’Avez Vous Vu has taken to the monte discipline with flair and is shod to preference for his seasonal return. He’s lightly raced but full of potential. If he handles the track, he could spring a surprise at a nice price.
Main Absolue made a striking reappearance at Laon, winning with plenty in hand. She has clearly come on for that run and starts from the front row here. Mathieu Mottier knows her well, and she looks the one to beat after that demolition job.
Mona Vili was going best of all when eliminated at Chateaubriant. She is better than that run suggests and gets a chance to redeem herself. If she avoids trouble, she has the class to challenge the favourite.
Maywenn du Gueret was unlucky not to complete a hat-trick here last month, suffering interference. Mottier takes the drive, and she can make amends. She’s better than her recent result reads.
Los Pacos is wonderfully talented but notoriously capricious. He ran second here last month before losing action at Vichy. Reconfigured and with Jean Ferron in the saddle, he can make amends if he stays trotting. On pure ability, he’s the class horse.
Le Rib has been excellent since returning from a winter break, winning and placing consistently. He loves the monte style and is well-engaged. A solid each-way candidate with a huge chance.
Liberator Phedo is tricky but eminently capable. He’s shown spark in recent outings and could outrun his odds if he behaves. The track and trip suit.
Mythe d’Erable was given an easy comeback at Saint-Malo and now tackles this race barefoot for the first time. The change in shoeing can produce significant improvement. Drawn on the inside, he has a realistic chance to impose.
Mirage du Caieu was most impressive at Le Croise-Laroche. He’s barefoot today and looks a major danger. The form is strong, and he will not be a pushover.
Muscat des Epines showed his form at Amiens after an early elimination. Yoann Lebourgeois is a positive booking, and he can make amends if he gets off on the right foot.
Kentucky Danica is an excellent campaigner who rarely puts a foot wrong. Her Caen record is impeccable, and she enjoys a superb entry. Mathieu Mottier takes the ride, and she will be heavily supported.
Kingalo du Chene ran second on re-entry at Nancy and is barefoot today. He has the ability to finish close, and this track should suit him well.
Kanardo For Clara is never easy but won his only Caen start. He’s plainly in shape and can outrun his odds with a clean trip.
Kaid del Green has been in ruthless form, winning at Mauquenchy and then with authority at Amiens. Despite a wide draw, he looks marginally the best bet here. He’s quick away and can overcome the post.
Korsiko took little time to get back in shape and won here last time. He must be taken seriously, and the track clearly suits him.
Kaiser Turgot was full of running when eliminated last time. He loves Caen and can bounce back at a price.
Jaina d’Essarts has been superb since April, arriving at Caen on a hat-trick. If she stays in stride, she can wrap this up. Francois Lagadeuc is in the irons, and she looks the class act.
Jeune Orange Coton is tricky but talented. Drawn wide (15) but well-engaged, Antonin Andre can keep her focused. She can challenge if things fall right.
Idole Star gave a reassuringly good account at Vichy. She returns to Caen with place claims at a decent price.
🏆 Top Choice – Race 1 · Loka Loka (1)
Loka Loka is the most reliable horse on the card. Her Vichy victory was electric, and she returns to a track where she feels at home. Drawn on the front line, with form and fitness on her side, she is the day’s standout bet. Expect her to lead or sit just off the pace and finish powerfully. She is the anchor of today’s program.
